Redefining Creative Collaboration at Ascend Makea
A division of Alightance Pte Ltd, Ascend Makea is proud to continue this legacy. In December 2024, we became one of Singapore’s first co-design studio offices to integrate coworking and maker spaces under one roof. We welcome hobbyists, families, solopreneurs, and green tech innovators to co-create in an inspiring and accessible environment.
A Studio Led by Vision and Experience
Ascend Makea was founded by a creative entrepreneur with a background in product development, project management, and design thinking education. Raised in an artist’s family, he brings a deep appreciation for both artistic expression and practical innovation. After years of refining his expertise, he launched the Conscious Maker’s Series, which now shapes the collaborative and purposeful culture of Ascend Makea Studio.
What “Alightance” Means
“Alightance” is a word we coined to capture a sense of joy, discovery, and creative awakening. Pronounced as “Aligh-” and “-tance,” it echoes the sound of “enlighten,” reflecting our mission to spark deeper understanding and insight in the design journey.
The word also draws from “alight” and the phrase “alight on,” which means to find something by chance. At Alightance, we hope our members experience those moments of unexpected discovery as they explore and create.
